Wallpaper*: Marble Quarry Turkey

MARBLE QUARRIES ARE THE COOLEST PLACES IN THE WORLD. Ok, I may be exaggerating a bit, but I was seriously blown away. I accompanied Robin Grasby to Afyonkarahisar, Turkey to document where he sources his marble. First, we toured the factory where the marble is cut and processed (which was just a light amuse bouche we would later realize). Then, we drove about 3.5 hours to Bilecik quarry, one of Turkey’s largest. We arrived late in the day so work had stopped, which was a bit of a pity, but on the flip side, we had the place all to ourselves. We were given hard hats and set free among the 15-meter stacks of marble to make some photographiez.
